When Paranoid Frog restarted one goal was to combine music production with video production and creative coding. Jonas has a great interest in combining music, video and programming. Already in the early nineties music was combined with demos written in C++ using hardware accelerated graphics. These videos can be found here (Zero and Extravaganza).
Our first new video production was for the track, Transcommunication. This video was created using Processing and the graphics was controlled in real-time using the sound from the music. The video for this track is found below:
Another example of a video combining code, music and video is from the track, Moving in Tunnels. This video is created in C++ using the openFrameworks. Video is also synchronised with music in real-time. The result is shown in the video below:
Another example of a Processinvideo production is for the track, Disco Poe. This production was originally produced to be performed live, but then 2020 came and we released it as a static video. The video can be controlled live using a midi-controller. The code uses a lot of shaders to produce the effects in real-time.
Most of our other video productions are created using Adobe Premiere combing existing materials with our own material. One of the best examples is the remix of Kraftwerk – Computer Love:
